While Global Warming is serious and complex , there are many things we can each do to respond: drive greener cars, green our homes, use energy wisely, use less, and demand our corporate leaders and elected officials act today.
By reducing our energy consumption at home and at work, by building green buildings that are more energy efficient and by driving and demanding more fuel-efficient vehicles, we can begin to make a difference.
We can successfully tackle climate change by advocating for action on all levels:

Commit to taking personal action in your life by taking the Pledge for Energy Independence. Increasing energy efficiency, using fuel-efficient cars, and building renewable energy can reduce our dependency on oil, promote clean air, and combat climate change.

You can have an impact on your community by encouraging the local school system to commit to a green school initiative. A green school is a community facility that is designed, built, renovated, operated, or reused in an ecological and resource-efficient manner.

Many companies are already taking positive steps to combat global warming, but there's more to be done. Companies can green up their practices and reap rewards in terms of consumer loyalty, good publicity, and economic savings from reductions in energy use.

Many cities, in this country and abroad, already have strong local policies and programs in place to reduce global warming pollution, but more action is needed at the local, state, and federal levels to meet the challenge.
